This morning, our Saint Albert the Great family gathered in gratitude and respect for those who serve or have served in our nation’s armed forces. Our 6th graders have dedicated their time to honoring these heroes through interviews, research, and essays, all leading up to this meaningful celebration. The day began with an all-school Mass, where members of our Quilts of Valor Ministry presented beautiful handmade quilts to selected recipients, wrapping them in love and appreciation.
After Mass, our 6th graders, along with veterans and special guests, moved to the Church Hall for brunch and a beautiful program filled with reflections, prayers, poems, and patriotic songs. We were deeply honored to welcome Coast Guard Commander Rick DeChant (ret’d), who presented scholarships generously sponsored by NEOPAT to four outstanding students: Brooke K., Charlotte K., Sam M., and Elise V. The students will finish the day assembling care packages to send to our troops overseas.
Thank you to our incredible 6th grade teachers, Mrs. Barbo, and everyone who joined us in this special tribute. May God bless our Saint Albert the Great community, our veterans, and all who serve. May God Bless America!
