Saint Albert the Great Drama Club is open to students in Grades 6-8 who have an interest in either Stage Crew or Acting in our Spring production (which varies every year). Stage Crew members meet on a bi-weekly basis and helps in illustrating and painting our backdrop, creating props and other set pieces, and planning for the logistics involved in lighting and scene transitions. Actors attend practices according to their scheduled scenes. They are coached in vocal quality as well as blocking techniques for best visual performance. They are responsible for memorizing lines and either making and/or purchasing costumes. Auditions are held in the fall and students are assigned parts according to scored performance on a rubric. Scoring is done by the adult moderators on a point system basis. The performance in April is repeated four times - three performances are conducted for the students at St. Albert the Great during the school day and one evening performance is open to parents and the general public. Participants are required to attend all scheduled rehearsals which are on Thursday afternoons from 3:45-5:00pm. This schedule varies slightly as the performance draws near.
